Battling Your Inner Turmoil

March 1st, 2009 by admin

There are a lot of unique quests in Northrend, great quests that made me smile the first time through and will bring me pleasure again the next time through with alts, as well.

Interesting quests like the one in the mid-70s where you’re sent to meditate on a mountain top in order to cleanse your soul of the various turmoils you’ve gathered up as a mighty … er… uh, leveler in World of Warcraft.

Beginning The Quest Chain

The quest chain is within the Howling Fjord side of Northrend, and the chain begins when you get to Camp Winterhoof and find Greatmother Ahnka is asking you to find her son, Sage Mistwalker.

He’s located southwest of the Apothocary Camp in Howling Fjord, to the north of the pit at Steel Gate, and he only gives one collection quest before he sends you off to Battle Your Inner Turmoil at the Frostblade Shrine.

Finding The Frostblade Shrine

Shrines designed for meditation are never easy to find, but this one actually was a lot easier to find than I originally thought as I tried to search for it myself.

You see, while the map doesn’t show there’s a road anywhere near the Shrine, there most definitely is a road, and therefore all the roaming around the general mountainside one might do to try to find some sneaky, hidden way to get to the shrine is in vain.

Unless, of course, you like to roam the countryside and pick the flowers or mine the ore, or see what mobs hide in the spots that aren’t regularly full of the smell of trolls and the like.

:)

Completing The Battle Quest

Once you get to the Shrine, the quest is quite straight forward.

Activate the Shrine with a standard right-click, and watch as your character kneels momentarily in meditation, and then see the clone of you appear.

Then, Kill it!

What I Found Most Interesting

What I found most interesting was that, of course, my mirror image was nowhere near a mirror image of me except in looks.

My Inner Turmoil Is Less Hearty Than Me!

She had less health. Her spells didn’t hit me as hard as mine hit hers. And of course, she didn’t have my wit and charm.

And my Hunter clone not only had no pet, but ran towards me to begin a Melee fight and never fired a single arrow!
