Starting Over On A New Realm?
May 31st, 2009 by admin
Remember When?
Do you ever get nostalgic for the simpler days of playing World of Warcraft when you were just learning the ropes and leveling your way through Azeroth and into Outland for the first time?
Or maybe you’ve got a friend or family member who also plays WoW, but they’re set up on a different server than you and you’ve never been able to play “together” as a result.
Perhaps you’re just bored or annoyed with your current realm, and would like to try something new and refreshing…
Or, like me, you’d like to experiment and test your playing and Auction House theories on another realm, for shits and giggles.
What Holds Most People Back
Some people have no problem starting over on a new realm, but some people have invested a serious amount of time and effort and FRIENDSHIP into their play time over the past number of years, and re-rolling onto a new realm seems like a huge ordeal.
A huge loss, actually.
No longer will you be big and uber and strong, no longer will you have the ability to earn cash that you have right now on your current realm, nor will you be able to play the game the same way.
And sure, you could pay $25USD to transfer one of your characters across to a new realm so you have something to start with, but I know I don’t want to shell that out, myself!!
Starting All Over Again Doesn’t Have To Be Tough
With the amount of knowledge you gathered the first time you leveled up your characters, leveling up another “family” of them doesn’t have to be hard at all.
Further Information
Remember how long it took you to level your first character to level cap?
And how much faster your second and third characters advanced through the low levels your first struggled through?
This time, it will be even easier.
Don’t Forget Your Old Characters
Of course, I’m not saying that you should DELETE your old characters or never log into them again – setting up a new toon family on another realm doesn’t have to be a full-time endeavor.
For me, it’s just a change of pace, and a way to test out my Auction House skills in another place.
I look forward to seeing how close of an experience a lesser populated, newer realm is to Zul’jin which is a “day one” server and *always* full in the evenings, with queues and free transfers off, a couple of times a year.
I’ve already noticed that my new realm has 1/4 the pages of Auctions listed, but I don’t know how that affects prices in various level ranges quite yet.

Why Are These Consultations Being Given Away For Free??
I’ve had people ask me whether I plan to charge for these consultations or not – it is, after all, taking up my personal time and taking advantage of knowledge that it took years for me to gather up, but let me make it clear:
There are no charges for these consultations. They’re absolutely free.
Read more about WoWGrrl’s new “WoW Help” service.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to message me on Twitter or if you prefer, leave a message on this blog.
Also, if you’ve got Skype installed you can contact me that way and we can chat further about the service before stepping more deeply into it.
I have had the privilege of helping a lot of guildmates make the game more fun and easy over the past few years, and hope to extend it to you – no matter your realm – as well!
