Grand Marshal Garithos was a human Knight and the commander of the surviving humans in Lordaeron. He was an extremely bigoted man, often using dwarves and blood elves as cannon fodder, even if they were generally more competent than the humans. Garithos and his men were enslaved by the Dreadlord Detheroc, until the Dreadlord was destroyed by Sylvanas Windrunner and her Forsaken. Striking a deal with Sylvanas – defeating the last Dreadlord, Balnazzar, in exchange for returning Lordaeron to his people – Garithos led his troops into battle and defeated Balnazzar. After beginning to make demands of his “allies” to leave the city, Sylvanas ordered her own Dreadlord majordomo, Varimathras, to kill him – which Varimathras did gladly.
