Sargeras, the Bronze Titan and champion of the Pantheon, was an honorable warrior of his kind. After the occurrence of the Big Bang, the Titans commenced work upon numerous planets, preparing them for habitation. However, wretched demonic beings from another dimension, the Twisting Nether, appeared and started to undo their works. To prevent such travesties, the Titan high council Pantheon elected its greatest warrior, Sargeras, to deal with the demonic peril. Sargeras fought the demons for centuries. Eventually, though defeating the demonic vampire like creatures known as the Nathrezim, their power of creating discord and hatred in one’s very soul overwhelmed Sargeras. He left the Noble Pantheon and created a force that would go against everything they worked for, he created the greatest force of evil known as The Burning Legion.
It is assumed that the Titans, although seemingly unstoppable, might not be as powerful as the Old Gods of Azeroth, which the Titans have defeated and trapped in an eternal prison some 140 thousand years before the First War. As mentioned in the third book of the Warcraft: War of the Ancients trilogy:”It took the combined might of all the Titans just to bind them (the three old gods).” Had there actually been a one on one fight, the Titans would probably face defeat. It should be noted that the manual for Warcraft III states that there were five gods, the stated number of three is said because of the fact that C’thun was thought to be dead, and one was slain and it’s corpse is visible in the Master’s Glaive.
Also the book made mention of the horrific power of the Old Gods by saying that even Sargeras himself would beg for the peace of death if the three were released.
