In the game World of Warcraft, before the release of the Burning Crusade expansion pack, the Forsaken were the most popular race for the Horde on North American and European servers, as well as the third most popular race in general, bested in popularity by humans and night elves. Nowadays however, according to a survey made by the Warcraft Census at 08-15-07, the Forsaken have narrowly been surpassed by the Blood Elves in terms of overall popularity; the Forsaken are now the 2nd most popular race for the Horde and the 4th most popular race in general.
Although most Forsaken are unquestionably loyal to Sylvanas there are some traitors to her; most notable are the four Forsaken in the Lordamere Internment Camp, Horde players can perform a quest that involves killing them and taking bloodstones they stole from The Forsaken.
Although it was originally stated that the Apothecaries wanted to create a plague that would kill all non-Forsaken on Azeroth, it has been shown that Sylvanas Windrunner still has compassion for the blood elves, which shows that the Forsaken as whole do not want to kill all other races in the world.
At one time during the beta of World of Warcraft, the Forsaken could speak Common, which is the language of the alliance. This made the Forsaken able to engage in cross-faction communication. Since then, the language has been changed to Gutterspeak. Also, Forsaken were considered as “Undead” instead of Humanoids
